Placing Custom Houses in The Sims 4

Sims 4 houses have multiple files and different file types - however they all go in the same folder:

  • YOUR NAME\My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Tray
  • This folder is for Lots and Sims

You can't make subfolders within the Tray folder and you should not rename any of the files you put there.

    Enabling Custom Content

There are a few steps to do before you will see custom lots in your game gallery:

  • Open the Game Options and check the box marked 'Online Access' then 'Apply Changes'
  • Load a saved game and select a household
  • Choose the 'Manage Worlds' option (top right menu ... )
  • Open the tab marked 'My Library'
  • If you have not previously done so, open the Advanced option and check the box labeled 'Include Custom Content'

  • Find the lot in the Library window, select it and place it in a suitable space
